AGV communication system is mainly used to communicate with the central control system, which is the ear and mouth of the entire AGV. Through communication, the AGV receives task information, path information, and various command information sent by the system.

It reports the position and status to the system constantly.The system can monitor the running status of all AGV. Therefore, the communication system is essential for AGV.

AGV communication systems are continuous and decentralized.

Continuous mode

The AGV is allowed to use the radio frequency method at any time and any position relative to the ground controller and use the wires buried in the guiding path for inductive communication, such as the communication method using radio and infrared laser.

Decentralized

It provides communication between a specific AGV and ground controller at a predetermined location, such as an AGV robot docking station. The kind of communication is generally achieved by inductive and optical methods.

The disadvantage of decentralized communication is that the AGV fails between the two communication points and will not be able to get in touch with the ground control station.
